Despite the win, Shubman Gill was fined Rs 12 lakh for maintaining a slow over rate during Delhi Capitals’ innings.

According to the official IPL release, this was Gujarat’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which deals with minimum over-rate violations. As it was a first-time offence, only the captain was penalized.

Gill became the sixth captain this season to face a fine for over-rate issues. The game witnessed intense heat conditions in Ahmedabad, which caused delays and visibly affected several players, who struggled with dehydration and cramps.

Delhi Capitals, batting first, posted 203/8 in their 20 overs. Axar Patel top-scored with 39 runs, while Ashutosh Sharma (37), Karun Nair (31), and Tristan Stubbs (31) chipped in with handy contributions. For Gujarat, Prasidh Krishna delivered a fiery spell, taking 4 wickets.

In reply, Gujarat Titans chased down the target in 19.2 overs, losing only 3 wickets.

Jos Buttler was the standout performer, smashing an unbeaten 97 runs that included 11 fours and 4 sixes. He was well supported by Sherfane Rutherford, who scored a brisk 43 to finish the chase in style.
