Punjab Kings (PBKS) skipper Shreyas Iyer has been fined after his team maintained a slow over-rate during its four-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in an IPL 2025 match at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday.
“As this was his team’s first offence of the season under Article 2.22 of the IPL Code of Conduct, which pertains to minimum over-rate offences, Shreyas Iyer was fined INR 12 Lakh,” an IPL media advisory stated on Thursday.
PBKS restricted CSK to 190 with leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal taking 4 for 32, including a hattrick. Iyer (72) and opener Prabhsimran Singh (54) contributed significantly as the visitor chased the target with two balls to spare.

After 10 games, Punjab Kings is second in the points table with 13 points while CSK is last with four points.
CSK, already out of contention for playoffs, faces Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Bengaluru on Saturday while PBKS hosts Lucknow Super Giants in Dharamsala on Sunday.
